This page remains as a tribute to the memory of Edith Chapman
Edith Chapman
I am so happy to introduce you to my dear friend Edith Chapman,
an amazing stitcher.
Edith took an interest in my work years ago and I found myself seeking her approval. I call Edith my mentor, and value her critique. She is a willing, wise and gentle teacher. Recently she gifted me with her very fine stash of Japanese silk threads and so 'challenged' me to do something special with them. I'm looking forward to using them and showing her!
Edith writes: "After I retired from teaching I decided I would like to do some hand work. Traditional Rug Hooking and Embroidery took over. The first stitching was Cross Stitching. The next step I discovered Needlepoint by Sue Lents. She introduced me to all the wonderful fibres of the time.
From this point I went on to canvas work completing many pieces by different designers. Along the way I produced many models for Humming Bird House which were shown at Needlework Festivals in Canada , The United States and England. At present I have numerous pieces in progress and others waiting to be attacked."
