"For the first time, I am including traces of human culture in what previously was landscape and still-life work. And in a journey of the heart, I found new meaning in photographs of my childhood. I chose needlepoint as my medium for its domestic connotations and its blurry, out-of-focus quality that is like a memory just beyond reach."
