The story of "Caly Flowers"
There's a lot that stands out clearly in my memory of my first fashion buying trip to Paris.
I saw the tallest most beautiful models with the bluest eyes and the reddest lipstick; the most exotic clothing in vibrant unexpected color combinations; old buildings with exquisite architecture; restaurants serving elegant food; walking in uncomfortable shoes; missing my daughters; women using the "men's" washroom; the best cheese and bread that I'd ever tasted; lots of dogs; and to my pleasant surprise, a needlepoint shop situated among the finest shops in the city.
Without hesitation, even forgetting about my uncomfortable shoes, I entered the shop and began sorting through the canvases.
I stopped at Caly Flowers. It was brilliantly painted on Penelope canvas. My attraction to this particular canvas was the result of my being immersed in an milieu of strong color, exotic design, classic surroundings, and heightened awareness of the excitement of life that I was experiencing in Paris. It all came together in this canvas.
Caly Flowers is Paris, an explosion of vibrant color, emotion and enthusiasm, stitched in classic basket weave stitch and DMC tapestry wool.
